Google Does Read Meta tags

GOOGLE DOES READ META TAGS!

Include them in your webpages for better results.

Let me prove my point:

I was searching for information on Russel Brunson in Google. I came across this result:

russell_brunson.JPG

I clicked on the link and opened the page. I couldn’t find any of the text that I saw here. I assumed that the page might have changed and so I tried the cache version. Even that didn’t contain the text I saw here.

Then I clicked on view source and there in the meta description tag I found this text. Here is a screenshot:

Just got a BSOD (Blue screen of death!)

Microsoft October 27th, 2007

I got a blue screen of death. I rebooted the computer and it wouldn’t boot. It just kept beeping at me.

I opened up the case and cleaned some of the dust from the mother board and tried to boot it again. This time it started working.

I have some screenshots which I took with my crappy MP4 player. The quality is not so good, but I hope the images serve their purpose :)

Want to create ASCII art?

Head straight to http://www.network-science.de/ascii/ and use their free online tool.

One of the coolest things I have come across in my whole life :)

I wanted to display some ASCII art here, but for some unknown reasons, the formatting is getting messed up when I try to publish it :)

Google is penalizing blogs

Google October 26th, 2007

Google is penalizing blogs suspected of selling links. Prominent blogs like ProBlogger have seen a decrease in pagerank. Earlier ProBlogger used to be PR-7, but it is PR-4. The strange thing is that blogs that are not selling any links have also been penalized.

This bring into my mind certain questions about Google and its policies:

  • Is Google the Internet Police ?
  • Who are they to decide what webmasters should be doing ?
  • Why should we use “no follow” whenever I link to somebody ?
