Why one should target MSN Live rather than Google

Webmasters often think of achieving high positions for keywords in Google. Google may be the de facto web search standard, but targeting MSN Live can be much more beneficial.

I will explain why. Google takes longer times to index the pages of the site. Its algorithm gives more importance to the age of the site and backlinks, rather than the actual content. For, if you create a page with more keywords and solid content, it still takes sometime for the page to appear in the search engine ranking positions.

Advantages of adding a sitemap to your Wordpress blog

If you are serious about blogging, you should add a sitemap to your blog. There are many advantages associated with a sitemap. Here are some:

  • Search engines will be able to index your blog posts better. Search engines work by jumping from link to link [This is called spidering] and indexing the text [and images] they find on those pages. Sometimes, certain pages may not have many links pointing to them and so they do not get indexed. Using a sitemap will list all those pages in a place and so search engines will have no problem indexing your pages.

Shit Happens 2! Reloaded!

This time I am not sorry for the profanity.

I opened IE 6 after many days and starting surfing some sites. And got infected with spyware.

I tried almost everything under the sun, but ultimately had to format the computer and reinstall Windows Xp.

Usually, I use Mozilla Firefox but sometime [when I feel like I shooting myself in the foot] I use IE6. (Don’t recommend me to upgrade to IE7, it sucks full time. One can’t afford a Super computer to run a browser). Shit happens! …

Shit Happens! Too Often!

Sorry for the profanity. But shit happens! Sometimes too often.

On 10th of this month I got paid by Linkworth. The amount while being not much (about $45), I tried to have it tranfered from my PayPal account to my ICICI bank account. In the morning, I tried to access the bank account through the online banking facility. My first attempt said that the username/password combination was wrong. [In fact, I had changed the password somedays back and I don't remember it now :: SAD ::]. I tried to login a couple of times more and BAM, my userID got locked!

Search engine spammers abound!

Search engine spammers abound!

I remember a time when a highly professional spammer managed to get 4 billion spam pages indexed into Google’s index. Other search engines like Yahoo! and MSN indexed many millions of pages but to a much lesser extent when compared with Google. MSN (now Live!) [No pun intended!] was the least affected of all the three. That site was www.t1ps2see (dot) com.

These spam results started appearing on the top pages for many keywords and one can only imagine how many hits that site might have generated. Billions while it lasted. It was then that people started taking notice of what was happening. And within 14 days or so that site was completely deindexed…banned to be more precise.
