How to ping your blog:

• Write your post and publish it. Don’t forget to use appropriate tags at the end of the blog.
• Go to websites that provide free pinging service and ping your blog.
• If you use Wordpress or a desktop blogging client, your post will be pinged automatically. Also, you can select any ping service you want.

I use www.pingoat.com and www.pingomatic.com. You can also use the same.

Once you ping, blog search engines like Technorati come to know that you have updated your blog. They will index your site and categorize your blog according to the tags you have used. Pinging is an effective traffic generating tool. Usually, you will see traffic instantly from blog search engines.
