The Secret to Making Adsense Work for You

The key to Adsense money is content – and lots of it. What you put on your blog can be just about anything, but I’m going to outline a simple method to get you started, that can be repeated again and again – with little effort, and no extra cost:

Visit a source of free content – such as ‘Project Gutenberg’, with their texts of public domain books. Pick a book that is rarely found on the Internet, but that you find interesting (or think others would).
Set up your blog, including the Adsense (my reports makes this very easy – see the end of this article for details). With hundreds of WordPress designs out there, you should have no trouble finding one that complements the book (for instance, if you’re doing ‘Alice in Wonderland’, a white and blue design might be nice).
Now break up the book into bite-size pieces, such as a chapter or less. Post these pieces once a day to your blog, one at a time, for a month or two.
By the time you’re finished, your blog will have many pages of healthy content, the search engines will have indexed you, and you’ll have traffic!

Is that all? It can be, but the key to making money online is to do it well once, and then repeat often. It puts the ads right in the article, where the people can see them easily – maximizing impact.

As well, it lets you easily test without messy PHP coding. As anyone in Marketing will tell you, testing can make huge improvements in a return. What if a different Adsense color would double clicks (and income)? What if a smaller ad would work better on your site than a large one? The only way to know for sure is to test…
